The CoachRail Guide to Nashville: What to See and Do While in Town for UMA Motorcoach Expo 2020
The CoachRail team is geared up and ready to roll out to Nashville, Tennessee for this year’s United Motorcoach Association Expo, and we have a long list of things to do and sights to see. While we’ll be manning Booth #609 from Monday through Wednesday, we hope to see you out and about town. Here’s a few places we’ll be while spending the week in Music City.
There’s never a dull moment in the energetic hub of Music City. For some live tunes, check out Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, Legends Corner, or Tin Roof—just some of the scores of live music spots on Broadway Street where you can dip, swing, jam, and jive. And what’s a visit to Nashville without a turn through the Musicians Hall of Fame, the Country Music Hall of Fame or The Johnny Cash Museum? Head to any of these museums for an entertaining and educational journey into the world of classic American music.
Hip and quirky East Nash is the neighborhood for one-of-a-kind eats and bustling nightlife. We recommend a quick lunch at I Dream Of Weenie—the walk-up VW bus gourmet hot dog stand—but we won’t be leaving without eating a hot chicken sandwich. Try this Nashville-born speciality dish at Edley’s Bar-B-Que, or head to Graze Nashville for a plant-based version of the classic meal. When the sun goes down, we’ll be exploring the hot spots in Five Points. Our favorites include The 5 Spot for live music, 3 Crow Bar for happy hour specials, and The Soda Parlor for ice-cream-topped waffles and arcade games.
Sandwiched between Vanderbilt University and Belmont University, this youthful, walkable neighborhood is filled with cozy cafes and local designer shopping. We suggest Fido for gourmet espresso drinks and the Pancake Pantry for flapjacks. Then, go browse the stock at Hey Rooster General Store or Davis Cookware and Coffee for unique keepsakes to bring home to the family. But the real gem of this neighborhood is The Belcourt Theatre, a nonprofit cinema showing a mix of classic, independent, and new release movies. Settle down here after a full day of browsing trade booths for a relaxing reprieve from work.
